some people who had the error on desktop - try it on mobile and it might work (coworker had success that way)

How would you characterize Venmo, is it like an online banking account? can I get this and PayPal offer to open Venmo for 10 or something? Or does the Venmo account that you add to Amazon have to match in the name and or email?

Thanks- this worked for me! (after not working on my desktop.)

I have both Amazon and Venmo apps on my phone, don't know if that made a difference too.

I received the error on desktop first. I tried mobile, but received the same error - logged into Venmo through browser. I didn't have the Venmo app installed on my phone at the time. After reinstalling the app, and following the link again, it opened up the app and successfully applied the credit.

If not working for you, make sure you try it on your mobile device with the Venmo app installed.
