Probably the only reason why i will continue to keep this card is for 4% cashback on Gas
This is so annoying. I hate this card for this reason and the fact that you get your rewards once a year.

I don't think so. There are gift cards for gas stations that one may get with 10% off or cash back, but their gas price would be at least 10% higher than Costco.

Here you go:

To enroll in the Preferred Rewards program you must have an active, eligible personal checking account with Bank of America® and maintain the balance required for one of the balance tiers in your combined qualifying Bank of America deposit accounts (such as checking, savings, certificate of deposit) and/or your Merrill investment accounts (such as Cash Management Accounts, 529 Plans). Can I still keep the card and be gold star member and not executive member? Do the other perks still apply or no? If not, do I have to cancel the credit card thereby taking a hit on my credit score?

Yup what BS canceling also Costco membership everyone should do it by the masses to protest this stupid decision! I can live without Costco for a few months in protest Zero shopping maybe after they realize they losing millions of dollars from canceling memberships they will bring it back
