PSA: Starting January 22, 2023, Citi Costco Visa cardholders will no longer have extended warranty on purchases made with the card.

This is the credit card company. I lost warranty protection on my other Citi cards as well.
Nothing to do with Costco. Extended warranties have been dying across the board for several years now.
How was 24 months of free warranty, and even better coming on top of any other extension, useless? It's provided significant benefit to me multiple times over the years

The costco warranty benefit was two extra years not one- and it was secondary so it'd stack on the end of a 5 or 6 year extended warranty too- which could result in coverage as long as 8 years in some cases like when Costco bundled an OLED with an ST warranty.
My solution was to go get a Wells Fargo Active cash for baseline 2% back, Amazon Prime rewards for the sweet sweet 5% at Amazon and the warranty program, and keep the Citi just for gas and Costco. Citi torpedoed themselves here, because I used to charge a ton more on the card than I will now.

If you already have it sure , but don't see any reason why i should apply for Costco visa card while my chase is giving me bonus when signing up and 1.5 % cash back on everything and lot of other perks .
