I had a probe die after one use. A quick email to them stating I wasn't sure if i was at fault or the product was faulty (it ended up over extreme heat/direct flame when searing over the firebox on my pellet by accident) and they replaced it no problem or cost. Customer service was spot on when it was probably my fault exposing it to excessive temps.

Very good thermometer. If in need, do not hesitate to buy. My first one lasted over ten years. I had to replace battery once, but I used it a lot. So much better than the cheap one's that pop up on Amazon. If you have anyone needing a very good stocking stuffer, now is your chance.

I don't think so with the plastic casing and all. However, I do see it has auto off after 10min, so it probably wouldn't matter even if you could

This model or wait for a deal on the ThermoPop 2 which is faster, more accurate, and waterproof (instead of splash proof)

The difference is speed. 1-2 seconds vs. 2-3 seconds. For most people this one is plenty.

Was excited about this deal before I read their return policy. If you use it at all, it is non returnable. If it's still sealed you can return it at your cost but only get store credit back. If you get it and it's broken you have to file a warranty claim, you can't get a refund. It's pretty much one big fat "buyer beware".

From their page:

"We do not have a "buy-and-try" allowance policy. It is the responsibility of the customer to determine suitability of a product prior to placing the unit in service"

Well yeah. People are tired of "buy and try" users. It also causes inflation. Who eats the cost if consumer doesn't do their research before buying?

Absolutely not. The heat will travel up the probe and damage the measurement electronics and plastic housing. Ask me how I know....

That is not what causes inflation. You clearly have no experience running a business.
