anything in this price range that is also a touchscreen?
tablets, chrome books, or if your capable of doing your own research, off lease dell business computers at dellrefurbished.com. They just released some 35% off coupons for the 5490 and 5491. There are some touch screen models laptops as well as 2in1's
HP not IPS screen but $255
Asus not touch screen and $10 more also less storage
Gateway build quality....questionable, probably needs another generation or two to have them get it right.
To tell the truth, I would probably go with HP if I am looking for something in this range. Personally I don't care too much about IPS or not.
Otherwise this Lenovo would be the best choice depends on and in most people's need.

You do know that this isn't IPS either, right? It's TN.

I have nothing against TN panel or VA or IPS.
LED back light with LCD front but not having millions of LEDs shine into my eyes that's a no.
PPL above 250 is good enough, 300+ is better.
Brightness and contrast just average is ok.
If you are asking me regarding some of my preference on panels.

I don't know if you want IPS panel or not but this is a TN panel no touch screen. Price wise is $5 cheaper than the HP laptop mentioned above. The major difference is the CPU and IGPU, if you wish to play some games go for HP if not and do video editing, the Acer intel cpu has Quick Sync video may help with video encoding. Probably HP is the better choice from the spec depends on your needs. For me I will also check for Linux compatibility.
