Gen4 so it should work with PS5, although it's below recommended speed.

I has a WD Black SN750 Gen 3 that Reads 3400MB/s and Writes 3050MB/s.

Yes but this is priced near nvme 3.0 which will be discontinued if favor of nvme 4.0 throughputs that advance on the read.. but chips that test out lower spec... rather than scrap the silicon.

I am on the lookout for a1tb drive food my Dell G15 Ryzen laptop I got from best buy last month. I have already filled the 512gb that it came with.

Every thread that has been posted here so far, the consensus is they are slow. So what is a good bang for bucks drive I can get?

May not be amazing speeds, but for $60 not bad. Will return if a better BF value deal is available.

4000MB/s R/W is pretty standard. If you're looking for faster speeds like 6000MB/s+ R/W, I'd look at ADATA and Kingston. Faster speeds do start to hike in price, cheapest PCIe 4.0 SSD I've seen recently that is still on sale are those listed in this post.

Edit: Here is the 1TB ADATA Legend PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD [amazon.com] priced at $80 with R/W speeds up to 5000/4500MB/s

Slow when comparing benchmark numbers but in real life, they are all pretty much the same.

FWIW, I just replaced a gen 3 hynix 1tb with this into a gen 3 slot. It's almost as speedy n benchmarks overall. A bit faster in seq128k. I don't notice in my day-to-day.

How do you prove that? With real life benchmarks?

What about its temperature? Since this is Gen 4, does it get more hot?
