So the 700b bar is like jet black and the 800b has more of a charcoal color. Both look good. They are the same length but the 700b is slightly shorter in terms of height and the ends are just capped whereas the 800b has the side firing speakers at the far reaches of the unit. As for the subs they are night and day design wise. The 800b looks more modern and is obviously larger compared to the 700b

Alright so I tested both systems on hdmi earc with Q symphony enabled. I put on a movie called underground 6 on Netflix which has atmos. I ran the same car chase scene like 10x on each one. My conclusion is this: Both bars (in my space) sound VERY similar. The subs, despite the size, aren't that far off from each other. I'm not sure the 800b is worth the $479 price tag I paid (which is the lowest it's ever been) so it's still double the $239 of the 700b. Simply put Im not getting double the sound value or even close. It's like a 15% better sound from the 800b on the bar maybe a 20% increase on the sub. Definitely not enough for someone like me to really notice. Kind of disappointed that the performance is this alike because I wanted my 800b to win.
Your results might very depending on your room setup. Since I'm in wide open space the side firing speakers might not even be doing justice in the 800b and could sound a lot better than the 700b if I was in an enclosed space. You'll have to fk around for yourself. The 800b is going back and I'm buying a second 700b for the same price of the single 800b

As a side note my garage is starting to look like a Samsung drop shipment zone with all the boxes my lord. Right away I can see the 700b box (subwoofer portion) is much smaller than the 800b's box
Update yep just opened it this sub is kinda rinky dink compared to the 800b's size and looks. Totally different design. Still have to compare sound but can't imagine it's going to be on par with the 800b sub

Q60B + 9200S = 5.1 setup = $233 - DSP processing wise this seems to be able to do virtual atmos and no DTSX whatever that is
Q700B + 9500S = 5.1.4 setup = $382 - DSP processing wise this seems to be able to do actual atmos and has DTS X
I am pretty sure the internals of the soundbar are all the same except for the no of upfiring speakers that might make a tangible difference in the quality of the output..
The Q800 i think is where the internals change especially the DSP, subwoofer quality etc.,
Q800B + 9500S = 7.1.4 setup = after the recent price increase from $479 for the soundbar its ringing up at $849 definitely not worth it at current price - even if the soundbar goes down to previous price its still $628 which is pretty steep
- Samsung Frame 55" TV for $799 (!) thanks to sale and EPP (partner works for UHG). $200 less than I've seen anywhere else,
- HW-Q700B soundbar for $179 (bundle discount automatically applied),
- 4% ($42) cash back by activating the Samsung offer in PayPal and paying with PayPal, and
- a bunch of airline miles with our credit card in PayPal.
I will be seeking out the best deal on the SWA-9500S rear speakers. I wish they could be battery powered, but oh well. It sounds like they're real loud if you turn them up a bit. There wasn't an extra discount for bundling a third item, so I decided to wait for another deal on those. Thanks, fam.
