With a trade in of an old router, price gets knocked down to $244 before tax. 25% off as always (calculates by pre-sale price). Unbelievable deal.

Mine came to $198.91 after $60 instant credit for trade-in. The 25% off was figured out at full $699 price. $699 - $280 (Lightning deal) = $419 - $174.75 (25% off $699) = $244.25 + 14.66 (tax) = $258.91 - $60 instant for trade-in (old eero pro and beacon). Total $198.91. Pretty great deal.

The 25% trade in discount is not immediate. Looks like they wait for the trade in, evaluate it and then apply the 25% off.

I believe they are all but nonexistant unless you pay for their subscription service which I believe is ~$3/mth or $30/yr.

Eero Plus is now the only subscription Eero offers. $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.

Without a subscription you can set up manual basic settings like open dns or black lists. The subscription sets it up for you with limited effort with many other benefits. I am not sure their new pricing model gives you good enough value for the price even with the 50% coupon code that can often be found. Unless you already use the password manager. The previous low tier one was a better deal in my opinion. I still went with the new plan though because the convenience of all the controls and ad blocker for $50 year fit the amount of effort I wanted to put into setting up my router.
Some of the basic features that eero provides are great and just seem absent in other mesh systems I have had to help setup. Ex. Ability to see the BSSIDs for each antenna on each node or even just seeing when extended family or friends show up at my house because I get a notification that their devices joined the WiFi.

It's been the same price for past 3 to 4 weeks after Google WiFi Pro release. Google WiFi Pro is a better deal and also superior product.

When Google WiFi-Pro came out, they dropped the prices on these and I feel like these are going to be standard prices.

1x 2.5gbe port on each router, weak dual core processor, 5GHz 2x2 up to 2400Mbps, 6GHz 2x2 up to 2400Mbps, and very little control without subscription as others have stated.

Plus, this is data collection city. I have no conspiracy theories for data collection but I personally dislike contributing to a multimillion dollar industry with 0 reward and especially hate the idea of paying a subscription fee to data collectors.

Without trade in that's $140 per router for mid-range specs. It's a cheap way to get into 6e if you're buying as a standalone router for a small space and split with family/friends. If you don't have any 6e clients, avoid, and if you actually intend to do a mesh setup with wireless backhaul you should probably avoid bc it will use either the 5ghz or the 6ghz band and that band will not be usable.

So what do you recommend for wireless mesh router? The original Pro 6?
