Really nice full suspension 24" bike for little shredders (and ambitious parents). Hard to beat the value. If your kid is really fast, you might need to look into a $50 upgrade to MT200 hydraulic brakes , but with their low weight, kids do OK on mechanical discs (or M6100 for the lever blade alone which is 1-finger design and ergonomically fits them better with proper reach adjustment, but I regress, again, power is not an issue with most kiddos before puberty being 1/4-1/3rd the typ. adult rider's weight).
No experience with the specific drivetrain, but it is supposedly a kid-friendly shifter (dual trigger) and a short-cage RD designed for better ground clearance with smaller wheel sizes. Basic suspension but will tunable air-springs and rebound F/R, should do fine.
My kiddo is still on a 20" and far from a 24", but I would seriously consider this if he was "of age".
Polygon is a pretty progressive brand and OEM manufacturer for many reputable "name brands", including Marin. I have owned and ridden adult bikes of theirs and would buy again.

I know the huge price difference but willing to upgrade if this one is worth the price difference for the difference in the specifications.
Appreciate any pointers!
Polygon says 30lbs for that full suspension, which is actually pretty decent relatively speaking. Yours doesn't list a weight, but if it's below 35lbs, I'd be surprised. Weight is important for kids. Picture riding a bike that weighs half of what you weigh.
