I own both the Bose QC35 and these have much better NC IMO.
& music quality as well but that 25 gm extra weight on 1000xm4 or xm5 will dig in so qc35 are better options for productivity users for longer calls or all day use… on the other hand if 250gm + doesn't bother you, this is a good option

I bought a desk from them for $30 or something and it arrived new in box. They handle a lot of returns from the big box stores.
Personally, I would be nervous spending $200 on open box headphones on eBay.
You don't know why they were returned. There is no professional review with returns. Does it look new? Plug it in. Does sound come out? That's going to be the extent of the testing.
I would sooner buy certified refurbished, because then you get the 2 year warranty.

Secondipity is Sony's US refurbisher. I've bought at least five Sony items from them, all like new condition like a Sony certified refurb. That said, these are $400 headphones for $200 but the marketing of open box here does feel weird.

Like most I was skeptical. I've gotten 2 75 tvs and the Sony XM3s and all have been in near perfect condition and continue to work well. Again every person's experience is difference, but 3/3, and they have great support. It checks all the boxes for me.
Great price! I assumed no significant difference from 1000xm3?
I upgraded from xm3 to xm5 just for multi device connections. I was switching between devices so often that it was getting annoying disconnecting from each device. That being said, I wish I went with the xm4 because I find the shape of the ear cup or the material on the xm5s to not fit my ear as well as the xm3 so I get leakage and ANC doesn't seem to be as strong (for me - I really think it's an ear shape thing). The sound stage is really better though so things sound more crisp and clear on the xm5s.

I agree with the music quality as well. I never realized there was that much of a weight difference so for me its obviously not an issue. I just know the first time I was on a plane near a screaming baby there was a huge difference. I think some of that is what frequencies are being silenced between the two, but for me it is a night and day difference. Call quality in loud environments with the Sony is also stellar, the can be in a data center talking to someone and they dont even know.
