I've owned the Charge 4 and 5 and both failed on me within a year. I generally don't encounter any issues with my devices so this really stands out to me.
Charge 4 flat out died in less than a year; upgraded to Charge 5 on sale and it would not hold a 'charge' for a whole day. Contacted support and they didn't offer any warranty service, only told me to wait for an update. That was last March.

This 79-page support thread should be enough evidence of the issue (it was already marked as solved when I first looked at it earlier this year, but maybe firmware updates have actually fixed the charging issue by now). However, the Charge 5 also stopped tracking my sleep after several months. No amount of resets fixed anything.
The Charge 4 bands were also low-quality and snapped within a few months of basic use. Charge 5 stock bands are better but I don't recommend the device.
Got the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 (first smart watch) and really appreciated the extra non-fitness functionality. Battery life was subpar. Upgraded a couple months ago to the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (LTE as well) and the battery lasts me several days or more on one charge.
Apparently plenty of people are having okay experiences with the Charge 5, but I can't ever personally recommend a Fitbit.

if you use the always-on display, it's going to deplete quickly. otherwise it's not an issue.
i usually can go a couple days before charging, but would rather just quick charge it while i shower.
i did have to return the first watch i got- its battery rapidly depleted within a few hours, was apart of a bad batch, maybe that's what some reviews could be referencing

I've been happy with my Amazfit tracker. It tracks all the things Fitbit does, with better battery life and lower upfront cost. I also like the form factor better since it mimicks the apple watch.
