150 is still astronomical. I can't fathom buying this at 300. REI has a sale on the low camp chairs last month at $12 each and they are amazing. Even those retailed at $50 a piece. 300 is just plain wild.
LOLLLL it's all about the brand. People feel cool when they have Yeti! I'm sure it's built a little better than some of the others (how many cheap walmart camp chairs have I seen buckle… countless) but still, unless you got loads of money or go camping 20 times in a summer, this seems a bit pricey… Speaking of desk chairs, don't some guys spend 1200 dollars? Herman Miller anyone?
13 pound folding chair made in China (check the q&a section) with no recline, no foot rest, no rocker, no height adjustment, no fold out table, no additional cup holder available, no fire resist (many reviews mention the fabric instantly melting from embers), etc. What an absolutely crazy retail price.

While I can't comment on the price/value (received one of these as a corporate gift) I can speak to its quality. Typical Yeti overbuilt construction, easy fold and deploy, firm fabric that you don't sink down in. Have had no problems with rust on any of the hardware, and the frame portion is sturdy and practically un-bendable. It's a little on the heavy side to carry around too far, but has shoulder straps to make it easier. We go through the cheaper camping chairs about every 2 to 3 years due to rust, bent legs, rips in fabric, etc and this chair is a pretty good snag at this price as I think it would easily last 7 to 10 years (?) if taken care of.

I spent about 1500 on a steelcase gesture (customizations were made on their site). More than the desk. I have 0 regrets. The chair is over 100 pounds. I stubbed my toe on it once and thought I broke my toe!
Edit: I've also had it for 3.5 years now and shows almost no wear other than dust.

people mad they cant afford my foldable chair. i use mine to hang my beach towels, but always am sure to not cover that coveted "YETI" logo. That alone is worth $135.

A Herman Miller is ergonomically superior to many other chairs, it will help your back and legs. Can't put a price on that.
And not just people buy HM chairs, organizations will buy them to keep staff happy. My job tosses them out every couple years, but they could last forever if they didn't
I buy cheap ass camping chairs because they get jacked pretty easily. At this price, I would never get up to go to the bathroom, and would have to padlock it to my ass.
I'm heavily vested in Helinox chairs, they are a similar price point to this sale price; definitely interested in the community's unbiased reviews of this chair.

I picked up 2 of these on sale for around $200 each a year ago. They are sturdy, comfortable chairs. They are also heavy and take up a lot of space. We camp a lot and do soccer games for hours at a time...they are nice in both settings. I'm honestly torn on whether I'd buy them again. I think I'd go for a lighter, more compact, chair. They are just a hassle to lug around.
