Someone on a different thread a few weeks ago recommended the Vsett 8, whose base model has a top speed of 26mph and a range of 22-37 miles, which blows most other scooters out of the water, especially at this price. I'm kind of kicking myself now for not waiting a bit longer, but I've had mine for a few weeks now and it's so fun to ride, and the dual suspension means it's not nearly as bumpy as most other scooters I've ridden. I'd highly recommend it even as a beginner commuter scooter. With this sale it's a no-brainer.

You make a good point about safety but I don't agree with your conclusion. Yes, scooters that go faster than 20mph are quite dangerous. That's why I wear a motorcycle helmet and just ordered a set of protective pads to wear. Motorcycles are also dangerous which is why you need to gear up properly. And just because a vehicle has a certain max speed doesn't mean you have to go that max speed. I usually go up to 18-20mph in bike lanes with no one around, around 12mph around other bikers or slower when passing pedestrians, and only go max speed in the daytime on long stretches of uncrowded streets away from other vehicles. Fast vehicles are not for everyone but there are those who can ride them responsibly.
My bearings on my Segway ES3 went last week after about 450 miles, so good timing.
I really want app control, neither have it as standard but there is a $400 v3 upgrade for phantom which gives app control.
For me, with a backpack im over the 220lb threshold of a lot of models so this guides my choice. The apollo city deal seems awesome if your more svelte than i am.
