The price per ounce doesn't seem much better than the big 16 oz bottle on amazon for 10.59. But having 3 bottles could be beneficial to some people.

But I mainly commented because I switched to the neutrogena facial bar because to me it seemed more slick. It's 2.32 and eligible for prime. I still dont even buy body wash because I think it's much less actual soap for the money. The bars are just way more concentrated I think.

I now buy the private label stuff at Walmart under the Equate brand. This Neutrogena product is similar to CeraVe's Hydrating Face wash. Walmart makes a generic version of the CeraVe in a 12oz pump bottle and sells it for $5.42

With inflation squeezing budgets it's time for consumers to dump the brand-name products.

And it's still more expensive than the private label equivalent. But now some poorly paid Amazon contractor will have to pee in a bottle while driving around your 3mo supply of face wash.

I have neutral skin so I can't really say. But Walmart has at least 6 different private label face washes. You should check the product images for each one for which name brand product it compares to.

I was in Walmart today and they were out of their Equate Hydrating (CeraVe generic) face wash. They were also out of their Equate Medicated Shampoo (Selsun Blue generic). But they had loads and loads of the name-brand versions just sitting on the shelf piling up.

Demand for lower priced private label products is very strong this year. Sales for the major brands are starting to decline. The NYTimes and WallStJournal have both recently run stories on this new trend of frugality. Even households over $100,000 are foregoing name-brand products in favor of private label.

Well maybe that will give them the incentive they need to unionize then.

The additional 5% for 4 seems to stack. Getting 6 for $15.37 w 15%SS if u wanna stock up. Would 6 month supply be worth delivering for them?Don't really want p** in my face wash

6 for that price is a decent deal. But it's only marginally lower than the same 36oz quantity for the Equate Hydrating CeraVe copycat product at $16.26

Private label is the modern terminology for generic? Please don't misunderstand, I'm a huge generic buyer. I buy according to quality and how it meets my needs and wants. I would never buy name brand medicines like Tylenol and Nyquil and Vicks, etc but when it comes to food, for example, I'm not buying generic versions of Cheetos or Ritz. Too, generic toilet paper...nope. But, I live in a very rural area and don't have a lot of store choices like Costco or Target or even Aldi. The choices are Walmart, Dollar General or Sav-a-lot.

As for this particular product, I'd totally consider Equate. I just bought 200 makeup removing towelettes Equate brand and I expect them to be satisfactory compared to their Neutrogena counterparts. These ones are new to me as I was using a different Equate face towelettes before. I just think its funny how we need to change what we call things in order to make them sound more appealing, like private label.
