Add milk immediately, because if it cools it can start to turn semi-solid. I use ceramic and have never had a mug crack, but I always use my cheap mugs just in case. Stir until mixed, then heat to desired temperature. Do not boil the milk, that creates a hideous mess. Rinse the cup with warm water when finished, as sometimes a little of the mix residue gets overheated and sticks to the bottom. I have never had problems washing it if I rinse it immediately.

Further it's 60% added sugars, not 80% which also isn't especially egregious compared to the homemade option.

Nothing wrong with calling something water. Water is healthy and good water are sold at a premium price.
