why is this a deal? Was < $5 each a few years ago
Wish I had seen it back then at that price. Plastic storage has gone up unbelievable. Costco was about only one where it only went up 30%.
Other stores seem totally rediculous, including Amazon.

Because whether or not something is a deal is compared to the current/recent prices for the same or similar products, not what something used to cost a long time ago.

If something had to be cheaper than it was years ago to be a deal, this SD site would be pretty deserted.

These are a little bigger and are cheaper per-unit:
(not clear though)

Does anyone have any suggestions on creating dividers or compartments or large contains like these? I like them but I always seem to just throw items in it when I want to organize them better.

Perhaps just cut up cardboard?

House prices are dropping now but will not drop anywhere near where they once were.
