Vendors do sell cards at MSRP. Models like the Strix or Red Devil will be higher but the entry level cards should be no more than reference.

The 7900 XT will probably not be 2x the 6800 XT but performance/price ratio does not scale linearly especially high end GPUs. The 6900 XT is only like 10-15% faster than a 6800 XT but it costs like 55% more at launch.

My guess is that it would be more like 1.5-1.7X the performance based on what we know the gap between the XTX and the 6950 XT.

Even the rx 700 XT are faster than today's 6900 xt. I'm pretty sure that AMD is making that that the stock of the 6000's are out before selling lower end 7000 series.

That's because I still look for a videocard, things may settle down when I bought one for the price I want lol. No I have no account on Tom's Hardware, I just like Star Trek and thanks to my daughter also My little Pony lol.
Great Star Trek - My Little Pony crossover there (found it thanks to my kids).

Not really I overclocked the msi 6800 xt to its limit and it was only reaching 56c
Most of the complaints are much more long term. I'm happy for you that you got good silicon.

from what has been said, seems like the 7700 series is heading to laptop mostly to flood that market... which next year may be a good year for a laptop purchase

Well, that very old article got the 7900xt performance wrong, claiming over 2.2-2.5X over the 6900 xt (it's actually more like 1.7-1.8x according to AMD themselves in the announcment):

Quote :
. Overall, the Navi 31 die powering the Radeon RX 7900 XT should be 2.2-2.5x faster than the RX 6900 XT
So I wouldn't be surprised if it's off on the 7700 as well.

FSR 2.2 More games will have this tech. It renders at lower resolutions but upscales at higher resolutions making the 6800 a much better value.

That was my first thought: This thing is ugly!
That's weird to hear. I'd always thought of them as one of the top ones, like about Gigabyte level. But that's also because I associate them with high quality motherboards. I'll have to defer to the above experience that MSI is better with NVidia boards.
I always thought:
evga & Asus > MSI & Gigabyte > ASRock & Powercolor

So I currently have a RTX 2070 and it's starting to show signs of it becoming deceased soon(EVGA B-stock card). It's out of warranty so it cannot be repaired by them.

Should I buy this card? All I play is the new Flight sim, Stray, Cities Skylines, COD Blackops 1-2.

I have been also considering building a new computer in general, would that be better or just get this since the rest of my computer now works great?

What does "it's starting to show signs of it becoming deceased soon" even mean

Worst as in business practices....they scalped their own gpu. Build quality is fine but everyone should boycott msi

If you're thinking about jumping on this one and returning it if you find something better, think again.

Lol wut? Theyre nearly identical in many benchmarks?

the real question is: is there a point to upgrade given a 6700k and 32gb ddr4 3200..
