The last time this went on sale a few months ago there were a gazillion comments about how awesome this thing is. I just want to make sure this is the same device because I missed that one lol

Yeah, same one. I've got the FTX and it's great, but if I had to do it over again I think I'd rather have this one.

Hmm okay, I went back and reread the six pages of reviews, and.. they're more mixed than I can remember. Someone was making the case for sticking with the FTX because the smith part can be troublesome based on its design. I'll have to think on this some more and see what competitors are offering…

Have you found anything better with the competitors? I'm interested to know what you found out.

Honestly I didn't see much in this price range. The next step up seemed to be $1-2k more, so I might just go with this one. If anyone bought it the last time around I'd love to hear what they think so far!

Edit: Actually, I'm currently trying to compare it to the Force G3 for the same sale price.

What's the main difference and why would you choose this one now?

I almost bought an ft2 during COVID but even a used one was $3k plus cost to have someone truck it. At $2k with shipping - a good $1800 cheaper. All brand new. You'll spend almost $5k at a place like Johnson Fitness for the FT2 that is very similar to the SF3. I have a beast of a Life Fitness Multi Trainer at my house. If I had more time on the inspire deal I'd see how much I could get for my equipment and put it towards the Sf3. A lot of "feeling" type comments on the other thread but nothing based off science or modern training methodologies. Just a bro science - "free weight rule" and "smith machines are garbage". This makes more sense if you are limited on space as well
