I've used these for years. Currently I use one of these for cat food inside the house, and it works fine. Previously I had two for flour and sugar (The big bags from Costco) back when we were baking a lot for my old high school, and it worked fine for that. I've seen some say they have issues with ants or that it's not airtight enough, however I never ran into that issue.
I would suggest these for indoor or garage use; these don't handle the elements so great.
