Not bad, but a week ago you could have grabbed a 2TB Inland NVME for $80. Plus buy an NVME enclosure for less than $20. It would nearly double the read/write performance of the Samsung for under $100.

$20 more than the best buy pricing error a few months ago for the rugged one.

Some freedom cards have 5% cashback at dell. So definitely check. Don't forget cashback website. IMO the $8 is really a trap if you try to use it. Honestly I would leave that out of the deal.

for an SSD it's irrelevant - they're both essentially shockproof. the whole point of "rugged" was for spinning metal drives...

I totally get it then what is the benefit of a rugged one. Water resistant?

Multiple reviews have mentioned that the USB port is looser on the rugged. Cables don't attach as reliably and could detach unexpectedly.

Doubt it. Mine is literally hanging by the plug. It's fine. Wouldn't be too worried about that.

Same reading/writing speed. At this point it's which brand you prefer.

True. Don't know why people don't understand that.

Are you saying companies are stupid to make a rugged one? I do know that for SSD ruggedness doesn't matter when it comes to drops. But there should be a reason why a rugged one is made?
