The math checks out that this is probably like last years BF deal for the reliant tires, with free one-time mounting and balancing included ($12 per tire)

Savings of $128 is $80 for the tires, $48 for the labor... Which comes out to $12 a tire. Since it's $17 for lifetime balancing and rotation (now) , you'd pay the $5 balance x 4 to get it to $68 total for labor.

You can also pay $10 x 4 for road hazard, but IMO, when tires are this cheap (for my car at least), it almost isn't worth it... Just get a new tire for that $40.

If you get goodyear brand tires, goodyear stores will fix your flats for free even if you didn't buy it from them... That's usually the bulk of the road hazard coverage that I acrually use.

I have the reliants on my '13 prius... No issues at all. Very thick tread depth even after a year, and though my car isn't a hotrod by any measure, these have worked great through all types of weather. Haven't tested them in the winter as I switch to winter every January.

In past years these deals included mounting and lifetime balance. I will update the OP once the full terms are available on Walmart.com.

UPDATE: The banner which was shared multiple times in this thread clearly shows free install and balance. I had a chat with Walmart, and they stated it is a free one-time balance with the installation. If I wanted lifetime balance, then I must pay extra. I contacted my local Walmart, and they confirmed this, and said they are doing free installs and one time balance up to and including Sunday November 27th.

Click the link below and look at post #342 for a screenshot showing free install and balance if you have a problem at the Walmart installation center.

I did this Walmart "Black Friday" tire deal last year. It was a surprisingly great experience in my local area, and the best deal I've ever gotten on good name brand tires. I walked out of there with 4 new tires, installed and balanced, all for less than $220. I dropped off my car and went shopping for 2 hours, came back and they were torquing my lugnuts to spec and test driving it afterwards. Impressive for Walmart.

Personally I got 45+ mpg on some Kumho TA11's and Cooper Evolution's. 2008 with 140k+ miles so the battery isn't some spring chicken either. I'm sure there are some studies to back up LRR tires but in real world usage I doubt they make a meaningful difference to justify the price difference. I'd say driving habits and type of driving make a bigger difference.
Number one factor in determining fuel mileage is the application of power via the gas pedal. Imagine putting a raw egg between your foot and the gas pedal. Light acceleration at the rate of 1 mph each second.

Second factor is tire pressure. Check the tire pressure in the morning before driving. Quality rubber can handle the maximum tire pressure number affixed to the tire. Using maximum tire pressure with a low profile tire (50 aspect ratio or lower) will increase the odds of damaging the tire and rim if you hit a large pothole at high speed.

Finally, check your air filter. If there is little light going thru the filter when you point it toward the sun, then it's time to replace the filter. Dry paper element is best. Putting oil on the filter can result in excess deposit on the mass air flow sensor.

I called (relax, this isn't a price mistake.) They confirmed the tires I ordered included installation and balance. Instructed to contact local Walmart order department and schedule installation once I receive them. Note that the tires I ordered indicated they were part of the promotion in the search results by vehicle.

I've been refreshing the website since It said the same earlier but now I don't see the "can't install " but specifically says I have to pay for installation at the store after I receive the tires. Can anyone clarify if it free or not? Seems there constantly changing it.

It's free if your store has an auto center that does tire install.
It doesn't if you are getting that message

Finally they allow to add installation ( only via the product details page, not if you click add to cart from homepage deals)
And I called my auto center and they say installation would be free starting tomorrow.
Auto center lady specifically confirmed that you get free installation even if you just buy 2 tires .. hope she backs me up when I get there for installation Smilie
