Is this different than the old Ring Pro?
In the same boat, hoping to get some clarity here. Is this different from my existing Ring Pro from ~2019?

Sounds like ring requires a subscription for most features.....so fark that.

What brand doesn't require this? I'm looking to at least have ability to see live on my cell phone when away, both live feed and past feed (maybe stored on a micro SD?).

The brands that don't typically do it to gain market share, and then they add a subscription fee on top of it once they've acquired enough market share

There have been countless examples of this happening the past few years. Don't base your choice on no subscription unless they're otherwise equal for your needs

Is this the pro 2? The ring website does not have a ring pro updated variant.

I picked one up a couple months ago. We decided to go with Ring Pro because of the width. Ring Pro is one of the thinner by width. There was not a lot of room where our doorbell was. I was researching options on how to run the wire safely or even a wireless one. When I found out Ring Pro is approximately 1.85 inches, this solved my issue.

Trade in credit and 20% discount are added instantly to your account once you put in the trade in request. My new door bell is already shipped and scheduled to arrive later today.
Weird… Trade in credit and 20% didn't show for me, did see my $10 discount for being a Protect subscriber though.

This isn't the battery version, requires integration w existing doorbell wiring. Waiting for a nest battery deal myself
Batteries often dead and then you miss out on recordings. The wired is the way to go for convenience.

Also the wired has better options like more frequent monitoring, longer video options that you won't otherwise have to worry about extra draining of battery.

Also the wired version is the only one that can do motion warnings

I have this and a flood light cam. You wouldn't believe the stuff that goes on. Watch doorbell news on YouTube you'll see. I think everybody needs cameras. Just imagine what goes on if you don't have a camera.

We need to get a floodlight cam for our backyard, we keep on finding off and on poo in our backyard, appears to look human, so we want to see what is going on back there..the floodlight cam wired pro, are they good? It would be our first floodlight cam, would be getting an electrician to install it since it will be going over our garage, we have power in the garage but no junction box, but there is one nearby

The floodlight cam is good but we got light problem and did not pay for the protection for this. It's a really good product until the light stop working. It still works, the light is just shit. But I'm glad we got it cause a guy was breaking in to cars and the floodlight camera caught his ass. This was while the light was still working. It blinks now so I just turned it off for now until I replace it, I just use the camera. My suggestion get it but get protection on it, so if you have any trouble down the road they will replace it. It supposed to last over 10 years but ours barely made 1 year before the light went crazy. Moral to the story, it's nice but get protection. After we had problems I looked it up and a lot of people was complaining about the same thing.

how would I go about getting the protection? is that only if I buy the camera from ring or can I get protection regardless of where I purchase it from? so the ring alerts are good? On top of the garage the lady who lives there she has wifi so I was thinking to use her wifi to get a better signal since in our house the wifi signal to get to the garage is not strong enough I dont think to get alerts..for the garage do you need a junction box in order to install or, we will get an electrician to install it, not sure how much he will charge us but we gotta do it since we have no gate and someone keeps on going back there either with a dog not sure what..

Very slightly better quality and night time recording. The higher FOV is nice depending on your setup. I can see packages on the ground clearly with a Pro 2, for example

I used to work for ring so if y'all have questions let me know
I currently have a ring pro that constantly loses network connectivity when someone pushes the door bell, so I can't answer the door with the phone. I have another ring flood cam around the corner from the door bell (further than the door bell) that runs like a beauty. I hope the network adapter in the ring pro 2 is different (upgraded). Do you think it's worth going certified refurbished ring pro 2 for $159 vs ring pro for $99?
