I'm so tired of seeing this same comment for the last 6 months.
That's truly not a thing. Corporate policy dictates that they can only install tires the same size with an equal/greater speed rating. If you want something that doesn't meet that criteria, then you can just bring the wheels in.

Correct.

They will. I have brought just the wheels in many times to various locations.

They will absolutely install their tires on any wheels you bring in provided the wheels are not cracked, etc. As above, I have brought just the wheels in many times to various locations.

Pricing is highly dependent on what tires you're buying. I am cheap AF and price shop everything down to the dollar. My wife's various sedans have had tires come from a variety of places based on the best prices. The latest set was the cheapest at Amazon, but I paid about $50 more to get them at Sam's for the road hazard. My truck tires, however, have been the cheapest at 1 of the 3 club stores every time for the last decade plus.

Pennsylvania roads have us blowing at least 1 tire on my wife's sedan every set. And then I actually blew 2 tires simultaneously on an NPS road in my truck. No issues getting Sam's or Costco to honor the road hazard warranty at any point. Neither has ever even asked for proof of rotation, etc. They have only asked for that in regards to treadwear warranty claims.

This is probably the most ignorant thing I will read all day. While marketing hype is just that, the ratings, treadwear patterns, construction, etc. are certainly not equal among all tires. If you're parking it when it snows and just making a 30mph trip to the supermarket after you get your McD's pancakes every morning like my dear old Pop did, pretty much any tire will suffice. That's not the case for most people though. You do you though. Darwin can't be everywhere at once.
Want a set of Michelin cross climates 2 but oos

Would they install new tires if I bring in a brand-new set of wheels? Or would they only install new tires on an already mounted wheels?
They will not install out-of-Costco bought wheels or tires. You must buy the tires and wheels from Costco.

If you have installed your new wheels, they will install the tires that you buy from Costco.

Not sure I would call this slick, more like an advertisement by the staff. They constantly have $150 off tires at Costco........

Curious to see if the $150 off with 1 cent installation will come back. It used to cost $40 to install 4 tires at my Costco. Its $80 now...

I think the 1 cent installation is dead with the $150 off... but my fingers are crossed.

Got my Michelin CrossClimates installed from the last deal last week at Costco - overall a pretty painless experience. Only negative was how far Costco was booking out for appointments.

Way to go Costco!

Called local Sam's club for my Tesla. They refused. Asked for reason, but they can't say. WTF!
Asked why they are selling Tesla recommended tires then, but this guy couldn't answer.

Called Costco, and the guy was straight. "Bring it in! We will take care of it!"
Told about the Sam's club experience. He said, "Don't even go there!"
We both chuckled.

I want to buy Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, but they haven't had the tire for the past 3 months.

Have to buy Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 or Bridgestone or whatever.

Isn't it better to wait for the 1 cent installation and the 150 off?
Source on them offering that, please. $150 off is essentially $70.04 off + free installation.

The $150 offer is the standard $70 Michelin rebate available elsewhere (but at Costco, it's applied at time of purchase, there's no rebate to file for) and $80 toward installation. Installation is $19.99/ea or $79.96. $150 off + 1ยข/ea installation would be effectively $229.92 off which they don't offer.

They will only sell you the most expensive set of tires for your car so compare prices by getting a quote from another store ( you can call) .... I saved by getting my tires at another tire store .
Costco tires are usually ones of the most expensive there are. The only benefit you are getting installing in Costco is free rotation, as long as you do it every 5000 miles (or you losing this benefit).

Lately I buy the tires like this: calling the established tire stores (Sullivan Tires, Monro, Pep Boys, Firestone etc) to get their installation price without purchasing the tires. Then buy the tires off ebay which usually gives you a great saving. Then having tires shipped directly to the store with the lowest installation price.

I don't buy from Costco anymore. I found that Discout Tire has better deals and their extended warranty has paid off multiple times. As far as I know Costco doesn't have an extended warranty available.
