Sadly, this happens and is unavoidable in the long run (with any mouse), but if you're up to it, you can replace the clicker switches inside the mouse for extremely cheap and get exponentially more life out of your mouse(s). Packages of clicker switches are very cheap. I've gone through so many of the Logitech MX Anywhere varieties (not because they're bad, just because they get used so much) and I've done this a lot. It's not too difficult to do (even for the inexperienced). Plus, if you're already planning on replacing the mouse, you have nothing to lose attempting to repair it, even if you fail.
I highly suggest getting the Precision Pro mouse (m720) from Costco for $20 and soldering in some silent switches. Awesome work from home mouse with customizable buttons
Correct me if I am wrong: neither one of these has Bluetooth, no?
Finally I figured that an upgrade from "2" to "3" on both of these is not merely for the looks, but mainly for Bluetooth.

Mx master just developed the double click issue. Had to toss it.
