I'm sacrificing 1440p, but I'm getting an extra 2.5" across and USB C connectivity.
I'm planning to use this for office work 95% of the time, and I've read that a flat screen is easier to work with than a curved screen. I'm looking forward to getting rid of my bulky dual monitor setup and having a built-in speaker for work calls.

Giving up the vertical pixels doesn't help for productivity. My personal setup (wfh software engineer) is a 35" UW (Monoprice) and mounted above it a 24" 1080p AOC monitor. I needed the 1080p monitor as I was having issues with people being able to see my screen share well when I was sharing a 1440p monitor.
The ultrawide doesn't quite multitask as well as 2 screens. I really prefer having a 2nd screen, even with the UW. If you are going to be on 1 screen, don't sacrifice and get a 1440p UW.
As for curve or not, I would recommend getting the curved screen on this large of a display. Helps keep viewing angle proper throughout the screen.
Until I upped to a 3440x1440 screen on my game PC last summer. It is crazy how much 360 vertical pixels adds. Now I've upgraded the WFH machine to match. Just gotta convince my boss to let me upgrade my workstation.
Both were Costco LG models; UltraGear 38" 38GN950; UltraWide 35" 35WN65C.
I actually prefer a single large screen for multitasking. Personal preference is key here. I'm thinking of picking up a 43" 4k for my WFH computer to see if the extra room is worth the curved/flat tradeoff.
