I gave an example of what happens when the drive uses up its SLC. In my posted case, once the slc got used up it dropped to around 100MBs. It could very well be that with this drive once you write 300GB it will drop 10x, and go from 4000 to 400MBs.
And you are correct, once the drive does its thing and dumps the cache to the QLC, its good to go for another 300GB fiber download session.

Its not that bad. In this case the drive has 300gig of SLC at empty. When 50% full it has half that, so 150gig. In order to slow down by 10x you would have to write 150gig in one sitting.
I'm wondering why more people aren't jumping on this? This seems like an amazing deal for a NVMe M.2 drive. This is cheaper than many SATA 3 SSDs but with read speeds around 7 times faster. Great deal for a general purpose music/photo/video storage drive. I guess QLC NAND isn't as good as TLC though.
Its not that bad. In this case the drive has 300gig of SLC at empty. When 50% full it has half that, so 150gig. In order to slow down by 10x you would have to write 150gig in one sitting.
Can you show me where it lists 300GB of SLC and how it becomes less with the increase in disk useage? From what I saw and granted it was an older video it showed QLC could drop to under 24GB as disk usage increases

QLC DRAM-less does scare people off.

Edit: SN750 SE is 600TBW/TB vs 400 TBW/TB for the P41 Plus, so longevity is getting closer. The P41 plus will generally crush that turkey of a drive. https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...-se-review

I bought mine 2 weeks ago and I've loaded mine up with over a 1.25 TB of STEAM games (big ones like GOW, CP2077, FF7 remake, Uncharted - many of these are all over 100gb each), WoW, and FFXIV. It still running as quick as my main Samsung 980 Pro drive when loading games. Just don't expect to be copying UltraHD bluray rips, your buddies 1.75TB pron collection or Camcorder 1TB 4K dumps into it and it'll be just fine.

I am waiting for Hynix Gen 3 to become near this price.
Hynix has 1200TB TBW endurance whereas this one only has 800 TBW.

But generally they are all the same, you have 15-20 gig of static SLC per TB, and 100-150 gig per TB of dynamic SLC. Once the drive is 100% full, you have used up 100% of your dynamic.
This could be a real problem with smaller drives like 500 gig. As once you are over 50%, you are talking you might only have 30-50 of total SLC to work with, and if your refresh isnt very aggressive, you could run out with just 1 game update and it would take 10x longer to finish.

jesus you just wont concede that you're basing all of this off of old information that isn't relevant to this particular drive or even MOST users. It will still maintain 400MBps once the cache is depleted. If you need faster drives than buy faster drives but quit trying to convince everyone else that this one is bad.
This isn't a 500 gig drive from 2+ years ago. what the heck is your point? if you don't want it then dont buy it.
