Please be careful before pulling the trigger! I was just about to buy and took another look. This item is a different model from the CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS System, 1500VA/1000W, 12 Outlets, AVR, Mini Tower unit that you see elsewhere and on Amazon.

The Costco model is a stripped down version of the Amazon one with a different model number! You can google to see the different specs on Cyberpower's website, but in a nutshell the Costco model:
- the regular price is the CyberPower SUGGESTED list price ... so Costco has not been selling this mdel at a discount. But now it is $30 off.
- The Costco model has 100 less watts of backup (1000 vs 900)
- The Costco model has a SMALLER BATTERY .... 12v 7Ah vs. 12v 9Ah ... hence the lower rating and runtime.
- The Costco model has 10 outlets as opposed to 12 outlets
- The Costco model has lower output on the USB charging ports
- The Costco model does not appear to have the color display, nor all the buttons
- The Costco model has a smaller input voltage spec
- The Costco model has a STRAIGHT power plug whereas the other has the nicer Right angle plug << Seems they both have right angle plugs per posts
- The Costco model has a lower Joule dissipation rating

There are quite a few more changes ... but I do believe that Costco used to sell the better version for a good price. I am not sure. Unfortunately I was waiting for the "better" version to come on sale. I will NOT be buying this stripped down version, but your own mileage may vary.

The shut down issue is a deal killer for me. They don't turn back on when the power returns. Worse than having no backup at all.

If you live nearby a warehouse, consider getting it shipped there for customer pickup vs straight to your residence. Lots of complaints of damaged packaging when shipped to one's place (I returned 3 of 3 that were all bashed up and I wasn't going to chance using them). When I did warehouse pickup, it was double boxed and no indication it was mishandled by the courier.

I have not seen the true sine wave one in store for a very long time. I don't think it would be available in store. I bought one last year around the same price for my garage.

Looks like their Simulated Sine Wave model has a USB-C port, but not on sale:

Reading most of the reviews, this is the prior generation of the true sine wave - so no USB-C, no color display and no RMCard support. But for those that don't care for those features and still want a 900w true sine wave UPS, I would still recommend these. Have a bunch myself, old and new gen.

Anyone buy this model before and open it up to see if it has the flammable yellow epoxy?

I have 3 of these and they've been great. I do agree on the shipping issues though and did return one due to the package just being complete wasted upon receipt. They are the older models without the USB C which isn't a deal breaker for me since that's not what I needed them for.

Most likely still has the flammable yellow glue and these units shut down ALL power (not just battery powered) if battery is degraded

Does it matter if this thing lays down on its side? Or does it have to stand upright?

Ouch... didn't know about this. Which one(s) don't have this "feature"??

Some stores has that one on clearance at $89.97 according to a recent thread.
