Homebase 2, which comes with the door bell, has 16GB storage. Eufy promised 2 years ago that homebase 2 will have expandable storage but that never happened. Now they have homebase 3 out, which has a slot for a 2.5" hard drive for storage. But the homebase 3 works only with new 4K cameras. However they have promised that homebase 3 will work with older cameras and devices sometime next year.. but I'm a bit skeptical about it considering they've said such things before.
This is a great video doorbell. There are newer and fancier ones, but this one just works. It actually works well without paying the subscription fee which most other brands require for the thing to be of any use for security. It does have only 16 GB of memory but that's actually quite a bit when you're talking about 15 second doorbell videos. Even better it stores them on the home base which you can hide inside your home somewhere not on the doorbell itself like some do. This means if someone steals your doorbell there's a good chance that you may have a video of them doing it. The way the storage works is that it just overwrites the old videos whenever it runs out of space while keeping like the last 30 days or so. I have this and strongly recommend it. At this price it's crazy cheap. If you ever thought you might want a video doorbell but didn't want to pay the monthly subscription fees or deal with complicated setup, just buy this one.
I have 2 doorbells hooked up to my homebase, with a little under 3 GB of stored events over the course of 2 years in use(honestly most of which could be deleted). I really only use it to get motion notifications for deliveries etc, with no interest in continuous recording. The appeal to me was that I don't have to pay for cloud storage and events are stored locally, and that the events are stored inside on the homebase in a case where the doorbell may be stolen.
I don't think this is a good option for continuous recording and in fact don't believe its capable of that.
I do have a eufy camera in my garage, but that has local storage and also only records when motion is detected.
Excellent product. Bough it when it was $99. I have default setting and been 3 months plus and still didn't charge. All the notifications are still recorded 15 sec I think and best part u can connect other product that use the home base to save otherwise with local storage but have all the camera on one app. If I was to buy doorbell get the dual camera if you get a lot of packages. I have two door and would get the dual camera for main and this one for side door that does not get delivery

Do you know the SD link when you brought it for 99$ ? Is this model supports both Battery and Always connected to Power from the existing door bell wires?
I have 2 wired that do not work with any homebase and have trouble distinguishing between the wheel on my car and a human. On full motion detection with zones set up it triggers on bugs flying around the front light. Idk if the battery powered doorbell paired with the hb3 will improve the way it detects.

Hmmm thinking of getting this or the wired dual camera one for $160
if you have the wire and/or have the skill, go with the wired. don't have to deal with charging and it's faster because it's not trying to save power. i installed the wired 4 years ago, fist couple weeks just played with the detection zones - and that was it.
I have this exact one and it's wired in for continuous power. The battery is just there for backup
Never realized it can be hard-wired.
I have both the wired and the battery powered versions installed. The wired one is 1080p and doesn't have the same AI chip that's in this battery version.
Both cameras sometimes detect humans that are really just trees in the wind, but this 2k battery version is much less likely to throw false positives.
I also put a Eufy 2C Pro opposite of my doorbell cams, under the awning. It's a perfect complement to the doorbell cams. Let's me see what's on the ground.
Also, being a heavy user of their stuff (I have about 15 cameras plus motion sensors), I wouldn't m trust any promises they make.
They will innovate and they will improve things, but not based on what people ask or complain about. They do what their business analysts tell them to do.
The "Pro" version is normally a Best Buy exclusive with a list price of $170. The difference between the Pro and regular wired version is that the Pro has 32GB of on-board storage and supports continuous recording. The regular version only has 4GB on board, and only supports event-based recording.
- The wired models cannot ring an existing hardwired doorbell chime. They include a separate wireless chime instead.
- They don't really support integration with Google Assistant/Nest, and doesn't support Apple HomeKit at all. If you want full-featured integration with a smart speaker, you need to use an Amazon device. See this article.
Most other video doorbell brands require subscription to a cloud service to get their full feature set, which greatly increases the overall cost of ownership. This is true for the big names including Nest, Ring, Arlo, Wyze. The only options that I could find from reputable vendors that don't require subscriptions are Eufy and Blink. For the Blink doorbell, you need to buy a Sync Module 2 and USB drive to get local storage, which increases the cost to the same ballpark as Eufy. The Eufy doorbells are higher quality than Blink.

So we can't really add another 3-4 camera & expect 3-4 days history? Does it allow cloud storage option?
