Reading the reviews of people who have owned this monitor, it looks like it's not adequate for FPS gaming. Lots of smearing from the 5ms response time. Looks like people have had issues with that.

Rtings gives this $349.99 35" LG 35WN65C-B a 7.4/10 for gaming, vs. the 8.2/10 for gaming of the $379.99 Dell S3422DWG. The Dell has a higher refresh rate, much better motion handling, better reflection handling, and better HDR (due to higher brightness). As long as your budget can handle the extra $30, I recommend the Dell.

Thank you for sharing. It's very informative. I don't play games and I have a 5-year old desktop for work only. It's such an old desktop that it doesn't qualify for win 11 due to slow processor. It has an integrated graphic card and HDMI only. The only strength is the 1Tb SSD that runs win 10 smoothly. Should I give up looking at 34 curved monitors because they would probably not work well with my desktop? My current set up is 2 FHD monitor of 27 inch. The refresh rate is 60, far away from the numbers of these new monitors

And Amex has the Dell deal again — spend $599 get $120 back — so if there is a better Dell monitor and you get this deal on Amex then you can upgrade on Dell for the same $.

I don't think this has a USB-C PD connection.. Am I overlooking it somewhere?
Would love to pick one up, but USB-C is the deal maker or breaker. Smilie

HDR sucks on this monitor.

Overall solid monitor for business. VA monitor but texts pretty sharp.

All of my monitors are DP or HDMI and are a few years old. Is the USB C PD for both data and powering the monitor or just a way to charge your phone? Just wondering because I have a few USBC to DP cables I use and I already have trouble with MacBook pro ports with only data on two monitors, I don't know what it would do if I tried to get data and power down one cable.

The USB-C PD would be for both charging and data. It eliminates the need for HDMI/DP/laptop power cable and you are doing it all with one cable.

My Lenovo laptops supported these features for 7+ years so it's really hard to go back once you had it.

I have this monitor, it goes for this price often. Def no usb-c here on this one. I have to use an adaptor to connect it to my work 2019 macbook pro. That said, it doesnt bother me having 2 cords to plug in: one for the monitor and one for power.

I have two of these (one from Costco and I bought a second identical model, refurb, from eBay for $250). There is no USB-C. There is a very similar model on Amazon that does have USB-C, but these do not. The up-close image on Costco on the back of the monitor shows the older square'ish blue USB 3.0 port that this uses and the USB-A ports for peripherals.

For those who would prefer a USB-C port with USB-PD support, this works well with this dongle that I use. I know it's not available on Amazon but there are other similar products that are available:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FF63XZ9

However, be careful going down the dongle/dock rabbit hole. It's a messy one as you get to higher resolutions and refresh rates. There's a great article that can teach you a lot about that rabbit hole here:
https://www.bigmessowires.com/201...usb-c-hub/

However, if you want a "quick" answer, look for something that supports 8k@60Hz and does not have DisplayLink. That's not a guarantee since some equipment just struggles with refresh rates over 60Hz, but it's a pretty good bet that you'll eliminate *most* of the things to avoid, at least.

I have this monitor, it goes on sale at this price frequently.

I am using it solely for work from home (no gaming). It is okay for that purpose.

I'm actually thinking to return this to Costco as soon as I see something better come up for Black Friday.

Colors look kind of washed out. Not many features and no USB-C input.

About the only thing that is above average on this is:
* The built-in speaker, it sounds really good.
* The stand is very nice, very adjustable.

HDR in advertised spec by manufactures is funny and sad at the same time. Similarly off-road/suv claim in most Crossover advertisements . Advertise something that it is not true / capable of , but sales go up because of that.
