nope. massive queen fan here. been to freddies mansion twice done my pilgrimage.
I think it really makes a difference when you first got into the band. The Game was the first album I ever bought by any artist, in 1980. I was hooked and worked my way back through their prior albums while I waited for the next new one to come out. So the albums in the sale are all among my favorites. Conversely, while I stuck with them faithfully through the remainder of their career, other than Innuendo (which is brilliant) I found the later stuff like A Kind of Magic and especially The Miracle decidedly flat.
And, yes, both times I have gone to London I have visited (from outside of course) Garden Lodge as well as the various other band homes in Kensington (both of Freddie's old flats) and Brian's home in Holland Park. I'm also a tremendous enthusiast of the Red Special and own several replicas made by various luthiers. Just goes to show you that we can each be huge fans and find completely different eras of their music to be the most worthwhile, which is a testament to the band's eclecticism.
