Looks like they use Erythritol as a sweetener, which is one of the better options. I'm just glad they don't use maltitol as Hershey's does in their sugar-free stuff because that stuff doesn't agree with my stomach.

It's produced with a chemical solvent called hexane, in extremely high heat, rancid, and then bleached and deodorized so that it doesn't smell bad. The oil is also very high in linoleic acid which is highly inflammatory. This is literally one of the largest disease causing ingredients in processed foods. A one-way ticket to heart disease, inflammation and chronic disease. Google video of how seed oils are manufactured.

Ah, thank you! That does make sense then, and in processed foods I'm sure that is what is used Frown But doesn't this imply that if you were to get some "cold pressed" sunflower oil, it would actually be healthy? (and expensive as it would be low volume and "artisinal")

Yes, it would be better but it would still be high in linoleic acid (omega 6) which drives inflammation and disease. Humans aren't evolved to consume such sky-high levels.

Maltitol will have roughly 75% of the effects of sugar. Erythritol is basically 0%. If your sugar free snack has maltitol you might as well indulge with the full bodied version.
