Got one! This is a really good deal for this speaker. Haven't seen it under $500 until now.

It's Samsung's new ultra slim sound bar. This thing is fraction of the size of most bars out there and has pretty decent reviews:

I got it because my TV is on top of a gas log fireplace mantel. The fire place has white molding all around it. The white version of this is small enough to mount under the mantel, on top of the molding and blend in nicely. Anything else would look obnoxiously ugly.

So glad I can finally get a sound bar that works for my setup.

If you mount below the mantle, won't the heat from the fireplace fry the soundbar?

Samsung HW-S800B 3.1.2ch Soundbar is showing on sale for $599 ($300 discount), but if you aren't a student, I guess you don't get the extra $139 off. Even vets and gov't workers don't get it.

Thanks for posting this deal. I just sent back an HW-Q990B and picked this up today as a replacement. I'm very happy with it so far. I have a home theater with the HW-Q990B and was very happy with it and so I bought another for my living room. It was overkill for my needs in the living room. I really like the way this looks better and it does not obstruct the infrared receiver on my Samsung TV the way the bigger Q series soundboard did. It sounds great, looks great, and cost much less.

Deal Confirmed.... Once youre in the EPP/Student Store and logged in, the item still shows for $599... However, the $359 price shows in cart... Sweet!

Got a message saying I already reached the limit of the EPP discount. But I haven't bought this soundbar before.

This is a great deal. I was contemplating this and the Q700B, and went with the Q700B (only because this unit does not have EARC, just ARC)

Thanks! luckily my SO is a teacher. Got one last night, have been eyeballing this since it was announced, we don't have a lot of space under our q90 and this should fit perfectly. Really good deal, other stores have it going for $600.

700b for $240 better bang for the buck? There was reviews saying they really couldn't tell the difference when comparing these .....
