I'm going to give some inexpensive eyeglasses a try. Has anyone used one of those pupillary distance\PD measuring apps? I'm scared of them stealing my eyeball data.

Put on a pair of glasses (RX, sunglasses, readers), mark the pupil location with dry erase pen on the outer lens. Measure and you have the PD.
