Clearance prices found today at the Streetsboro, Ohio store. Prices shown below were marked with yellow tags on the shelf and rang up accurately at checkout. There were many more bags in the outdoor garden center.

High YMMV, these items do not show the clearance price online, the web site shows "Unavailable" at the store where I found them, and BS is not showing any local inventory despite a few dozen remaining in the store.

These products are often combined with a source of potassium, like wood ash, to make a customizable organic fertilizer. Both the bone meal and blood meal are granulated which seems like it will make for a much less dusty mix. The most recent batch that I made was 1 part blood meal, 2 parts bone meal, and 3 parts wood ash. The bone meal is a good price per pound but the blood meal price is terrific.

Good luck everyone! While the Home Depot web site does not show these in stock at my local store and "Check nearby stores" shows out of stock within 100 miles, there is a "Scheduled Delivery" option showing about 100 units available nearby. Since scheduled deliveries would come from local stores that may be a reasonable way to guess whether any are available in your nearby stores.

This is crazy.😞
"The fertilizer is a slaughterhouse by-product, typically made from cow's blood, but it can also come from hogs…essentially dried animal blood. It is a water-soluble"

I pretty much never stand a chance at getting any plant food clearance deals from or local Home Depot because they either are way more stingy with deals compared to the ones in the surrounding areas (per brickseek), or the hordes of bargain shoppers that I've noticed frequent it beat me to it. At least I sometimes have good luck finding deep discount clearance deals on Jobe's, Dr Earth, Espoma, etc. at the other big box stores. Anywho, I think this is a decent deal for those who can find it, especially in 2022.

For anyone that strikes out at the store but still needs organic fertilizer, price matching the 27lb bag of Espoma Holly Tone to $16.98 at Lowe's [lowes.com] is an option. That price is decent and has been stable for the past month or so.

Thanks for sharing this, just be aware that Holly Tone is for acid-loving plants.

My local Home Depot didn't have any blood meal or bone meal whatsoever, I didn't see an empty shelf where it would have been either. They did have some Miracle-Gro 2.5 lbs. Performance Organics on clearance for $4.** each, but those are way overpriced to begin with. Lowes/Walmart/Home Depot websites have gotten so unreliable when it comes to inventory, both availability/quantity, and price, so brickseek isn't nearly as useful as it used to be a few years ago. Garbage in, garbage out.

Organic All-Purpose Blood Meal 12-0-0 Dry Fertilizer.
Weird, the NPK numbers are not making sense. Full nitrogen and nothing else.

Blood meal is typically a high nitrogen fertilizer.

There are vegan fertilizers for example from Down to Earth, but generally most organic fertilizer will have these byproducts of the meat industry. Read the labels.

There's also one from this company on sale for $2.90 called 'berry food' that is made of composted shellfish shells and chicken manure etc. though it's not necessarily useful for just berries. NPK 5-4-4

I use bone meal on stuff like tomatoes or peppers that are susceptible to blossom-end rot it's got available calcium - just mix in soil before I plant in spring

I use blood meal to deter critters like skunk or feral cats when they start digging in the garden in the middle of the night. it's made of blood. it smells like blood and i guess they don't like the smell.

Thanks! I will add that one to the OP. Were the prices the same for you on bone meal and blood meal?

Fyi the berry's are acid loving plants also. So I am assuming the berry food will be too. Bty I use holly tone on my berries.
