I feel like these prices are absurd. I have my original roborock S2 I purchased for 200$, best robovac hands down company wise. Can't comprehend why you'd need to spend 600-900$ more for it to empty itself. Also the bin models can't be hidden under your couch because the bin is too high.

I've been running an S6 three times per week for 2.5 years. About 3 months ago, I started running every day. My house is 2200 sq ft, and the machine has functioned perfectly. It creates its own maps and doesn't go where it's not supposed to. It's been far more capable and trouble-free than my previous robot vacuum.
I'm having a tough time pulling the trigger. For the price, you could hire a cleaner to come by the house every other week and do a deep clean, and that would still wind up being cheaper than this after a year. So yes, it seems like you'd need 2+ years of this to "break even".

I don't think you realize how much cleaner cost.

Target has the same prices on many of these models too. You get the extra 5% off with the red card also.
Not the max v ultra one yet though.

FWIW - I bought thru roborock directly and upon going thru their website and giving email, it gave $15 off order vs buying thru Amazon.
If you don't see the 15 off offer, try going incognito or clearing cookies in browser

My S6 is now $239. on Amazon. I have it set to sweep the hard surfaces every night and vacuum/sweep all the floors 3-times a week. I empty my machine once or twice per week, and I perform maintenance reminder tasks when they pop up. I haven't looked into the newer, more expensive offerings. I can't imagine them bringing much more to the table. After two years my machine doesn't seem to be slowing down. It sounds the same, functions the same, and puts as much rubbish in the bin as it did when new.

If I were personally in the market for a new machine, I would seriously consider the S6.

Every other week for 2 years is 50+ times. Where on earth can you find a cleaner for $20 to "deep clean" your house?

Looking mainly for the mop, any inputs on which one provides best mopping? Or should I be looking at something else?
I had the iRobot Braava 380T. It was a great mopping robot, but a terrible robot in general. No self-mapping or self-start or anything else. I now have the Roborock S6. It offers mopping which means, it drags a mop pad on the floor while it vacuums. Not to say it doesn't a bad job, but I haven't seen a great mopping robot that combines the side-to-side action of the Braava and the mapping/self-start functionality of the Roborock S6. It may exist, but I don't keep up with the offerings in this space.

In my experience mopping is a bit of an add-on for most of these robots. I haven't owned a robot that I kept full of water waiting until its next cycle is to begin. It is an operation that takes planning. I have to move the rugs so it doesn't drag a wet mop across them. I have to program it to avoid carpeted areas. I have to fill the tank and attach a mopping pad. What you are looking for may exist, but these are the things I have seen/owned.

Still on the fence about the S7 MaxV Ultra or the Deebot X1 Omni currently $999 at Amazon/Best Buy. I've watched MANY reviews. Does anyone have personal experience?

I have hardwood floors & 2 HIGH pile carpets, 2 robot vacuums I had wouldn't even be able to go over the carpet.

Mopping is the most important aspect to me, and app.

Any advice?

I got the Samsung Jet + on the other deal for $499, and am not happy with how easily it gets stuck on rugs under dining table and on entry way, even though the rugs are just a few mm thick. Thinking of going all in on the Ultra and returning the Jet+. Does anyone know how good roborock is with navigating carpets? Also, is it really worth it at the $1k+ price tag?
S7 is the best robot vacuum I've owned (have owned an S4 and S5), but it has issues with high pile, shaggy rugs. The spinning thing twirls around the threads and it gets caught. I don't think any other robot will do any better.
Additionally, if you have a rug pad underneath, creating a height difference of ~1" or more (maybe even 3/4") , it will have difficulty getting on top of the rug.

I still wouldn't trade it in for any other robot. I run it twice a week and only mop for deep cleaning and take out the handheld for small jobs in hard to reach places.

How does the S7+ compare to the iRobot J8+ at Costco ($699) ?
The j8+ has no LIDAR, but its camera is very good at obstacle avoidance.
The twin brushes are amazing on carpet.
dB is reasonable, although a tad louder than I care.

I like that the S7+ has mop, although I dont know if it is a big deal.
mop is excellent. mopless s4 is now in the basement where there is less traffic.

I want it but I can't make myself spend that much, even If I do have the money for it.
