Yeah. And I'd add that I've used all three apps. Dreame, Roborock, and Mi Home (some Dreame and Roborocks both work with this app) and it's clear all three are essentially the same app with exception of a coupe things.

One of the benefits of having the Xiaomi as a parent is that many parts and software are shared across the chain.

Why buy a cheap robot vacuum when a broom and dustpan is a better return on investment? You seem to forget that everyone's lifestyle and needs are different. People buy robot vacuums for the convenience. There's a reason why there is a wide range of models at different prices, everyone's wants are different and will buy what works for them. There is no point to thinking hard about "why people buy this?", try to convince others, or have others try to convince you.

Personally I have two kids with special needs, one who throws food at meals and the kitchen floor is always a mess with stuck on food. I already am up way too late doing the dishes, picking up toys, cleaning the counters etc. having something that can sweep, vacuum, mop AND clean up after itself is priceless. Let's say it lasts two years (and I'm very much hoping it lasts longer). That works out to about $1.50 a day to save myself a good 30 minutes of time and saving my sanity. and that's just the kitchen alone, not even thinking about other rooms. Absolutely worth it for my case. But can easily see why this is overkill for others. Don't judge people's situations and how they want to spend their money.

Couldn't agree more. I have 4 boys ages 6 and under. Both working parents. My kitchen looks like a tornado went through it every night, and the rest of my house isn't far behind. Having something that can vacuum and mop, and then clean itself, all while avoiding all of toys and mess in my house, is priceless. 100%! The reason I stopped using my roomba is I was sick of fishing legos out of the dirt bin and untying shoelaces from it. It is easier to vacuum, sweep and mop (swiffer) myself. If this doesn't have that issue, or at least can avoid vacuuming the play room until it's semi clean, it's worth its weight in gold.

The question for me now is how to childproof the dock so my toddler doesn't splash the dirty water everywhere (I really hope it's childlocked somehow?) or get yogurt all over the robot lol.

I'm tempted to lock the dock into a closet with an outlet and manually putting the robot on it and starting the clean cycle.
