  • About this deal:
    • Probably one of the best uses of the $120 Amex statement credit since large discounts on gaming consoles are so rare.

20% off Xbox cards @ Dollar General, you can use them at Microsoft store. Buy Xbox series X from Microsoft store for $500 (effectively $400 due to 20% off). Just has to be in stock.

It might be obvious, but I have to ask, they break a lot? Any specific part that breaks?

Yes, they break constantly. Just look at any other thread on SD and you'll see endless comments.

I don't game but a friend does, and yes, all of the elite controllers have high failure rates.

All versions of the Elite have trouble. Stick drift, rubber detaching, bumpers breaking etc. I'm careful with mine and am already on my third. Microsoft covered the first one, Costco the second

I've had to send an elite controller back as the bumper buttons stopped working. This is a good deal as the controller alone is over a hundred.

My elite controller is very reliable going on 2 years.

But I went through like 6-7 of them to find one without sticking face buttons.

I had two of the series one elites. They both developed stick drift after a while.

Hmm. I see this is at deals.dell.com.

On my Amex, it mentions that purchases need to be made either by phone or at dell.com/amex, and -- at least at the latter -- I don't see this xbox series x listing :\.

So I'm not sure if the Amex credit applies to this.
