Sorry but if you don't tip at all (in the app), you won't get anyone to pickup your order. They can refuse orders if the money doesn't make sense.

Checking on DoorDash, prices seem to be 30% more than at the store so this'll bring it down to -0% overcharge
Yes, it will cost you more to have a another person go to a restaurant for you and bring the food to your couch.

At these prices I want them to spoon feed me
Lol. These 20% off gift cards combined with free dash pass that many credit cards offer really do offset the fees and higher menu prices.

paying 20% less on GC is not going to zero out the "30%" overage. Maybe only in your head LMAO

Total Tech is worth it if you are buying Apple Products and want Apple Care.

I bought two Iphones and a Macbook Pro 14 inch and all 3 are fully covered under Apple Care through Total Tech.

Apple care is $120 a year per phone.

Apple care is $99 a year for Macbook Pro.

So for $200 Total Tech I get $340 worth of Apple Care per year. Not to mention I bought some Sonos Speakers and a PS5 last year and all covered under warranty for those as well.

Just have to know what you are getting it for.

I'd do that and it USED TO work, BUT now it also seems Dashers 'pick' the orders based on the tip value they see upfront. So, not tipping with a plan to tip later in cash is a risky proposition for a dasher and they pick orders with a good tip. This consequently means my food ends up sitting cold as nobody picks it up - all for good intentions.

Somebody needs to regulate this practice, else corporations abuse it for their benefit.

No one needs to regulate jack squat lmao. System is working just as intended where the good tippers get their food on time and low to 0 tips sit in the shelves until some new driver on the job that doesn't know what he's doing picks it up.

Either learn to tip properly or go pick up the food yourself. You probably one of those bums that don't tip when dining in the restaurants either.
Hmmm... Not sure if you understood my comment - here's my attempt to elaborate:

The issue here is that DD and others use a customer's tips to meet the pay - whereas I as a customer wish to have my tip go to the delivery person as an absolute BONUS over their pay - good intentions.

Earlier, this made rounds in social media where delivery people requested the customers to tip in cash, so that it may reach them entirely over their promised pay. I as a customer followed this - with a $1 tip in app plus ~15% tip in cash upon delivery.

This seemed to work for a while, until DD and others started showing tips upfront and now a pick decision is made based on the in-app tip amount. As a result, people with good intentions who were planning to tip in cash got screwed with late delivery.

So they had to go back to full-tipping thro the app (doesn't make any difference to the customer, in fact it is easier) but now once again screws the delivery person as their total pay rolls tips under it to meet minimum limits.

You probably know this already. You probably still decided to make that presumptuous comment that I don't tip - while dining at restaurants (what?!) - that is rich!

This isn't true anymore. The major services pass 100% of the tip to the driver as additional pay. This changed after DoorDash got backlash for their system that counted tips toward a minimum payout, which they previously used to subsidize the portion of the minimum they'd have to contribute.
