And how do we set up a trade-in, anyway? I clicked through many pages of this thread, but still confused on that. Is it something they'll just manually do at the register, and for now, I just am paying full price - until they adjust it after trade-in? Seems like a bit of a gamble to go for a Tracfone or whatever refurb, too...

Do you guys think this is the lowest Black Friday deal that they would go?
Or, if I wait a couple of weeks, say before or after Christmas, could there be a better deal?
Buy the Pixel 7 and trade in my XR at a cost of $39.
Sell the Pixel 7 on Swappa or eBay for $300-450
Pickup a secondhand iPhone 12 or 13 Pro Max as my 'upgrade' for $450-650.

I don't know much about fruit phones, so bear with me.*
*For Pixel users, who want to upgrade, the BB trade-in at store makes it difficult to use the copy over feature from phone to phone.
Make the online BB purchase for pickup with trade-in. Mine was to p/u on 11/25, so there was plenty of time.
Then buy the secondhand iPhone 12 or 13 Pro Max as the 'upgrade' first.
Then transfer all your data to it from the XR
Wipe the XR.
Then trade in the XR for the P7 for $39. Definitely get the UNLOCKED P7. Definitely get the SNOW or LEMONGRASS if available. I think they show less scratches, so people like them vs. black.
Then sell the P7 on Swappa for $300-$450 (not sure if you'll get $450 though; gonna be a lot of new P7 on the shelf).
1st-I had a 12 mini kind of same situation, on straight talk, someone else's account. Would activate on Apple, put an active Tracfone sim in and it worked fine, but no amount of phone calls, chats would get them to allow activation. Took it to Apple store, they did diag check, gave me the current $300 trade-in amount, no problem. I think it'll work, it's probably not financed, just still tied to account which the can't see. If they won't take it, just cancel, no harm. You may want to go to Sickw.com and do the free check to see what it says, but if icloud is off, BB should take it.

The trade-in value is slightly lower and the turnaround time is like 3 weeks to get the credit, but they'd take the TMo version as they have no stipulations on carrier.
Otherwise, say it is an ATT phone and see what happens.
Worse case scenario, you cancel the order and waste 30+ minutes.
