You'll get charged the full price + taxes when making the order with a trade-in online. When you go in-store to pick up the new phone and trade in your old phone, they'll refund you the difference and with that, your taxes will also be adjusted according to the final price.

Source: I traded in my Pixel 6 for a Pixel 7 a month ago at Best Buy.

Will this trade in work with a phone from metro? Can I just select T-Mobile for trade in carrier since it Metro-by T-Mobile?

Does anyone know if in-store would they allow for a trade-in device to exceed the purchase price? I know online you get a message that says that it won't allow you to use a trade-in that's worth more than the phone cost.

It feels like the bonus trade-in values are going to people trading iPhones. Perhaps Google is subsidizing iPhone users who are considering the switch.
iPhone trade ins are always higher. As is their resale value. Just look at eBay.

Since you didn't mention it have you tried this? https://support.apple.com/guide/i...3c3ee6/ios
Thanks. I tried that already. I also tried connecting it to my pc to wipe/reset but it doesn't seem to receive any electricity or do anything.

I was going to try removing the screen to see if I can disconnect and reconnect things to try to make it work but stopped at prying open the screen. I didn't want to "break" any physical hardware.

So, without being able to turn it on, BB employee told me they'd mark it as such and the only option is to "recycle", which gives a value of zero.
Another poster said that's OK and the promotional value of $350 will apply. How can I be sure?

Gonna call bb corporate tomorrow, but I doubt they can confirm.

If someone has done this, please chime in with your experience.

TIA

Also, I tried looking at TIV values for my other old iPhones and they are crap:
8 Plus: $85
Iphone se 2nd gen (from 2020): $75
XR is older but it has $460 for good condition and $350 for broken/no turn on.
Weird

1. Do I need to activate IPhone XR before I trade in?

2. If No, then can I use $35 plan on a different phone or sell it on Ebay or any marketplace?

If the phone packaging has been opened, you'll be hit with a restocking fee at the least...

My pixel 7 pro drops data connection with the ex clamation "!" Mark all the time. I in fact own two pixel 7 pro phones and only one of them drops data like this all the time.

I am off the phone with Google today. And I am so mad with their response today that basically told me, "suck it up". I wouldn't buy this phone and stay away from google. I have been a google phone fan since nexus. So disappointing. No this is more. This should be a class action.

Comment I got from google:

"As I've said before, recording the call is not allowed so please don't record. However, you still continue recording the call despite the warnings, hence I have to terminate the call.

Your request for a replacement was declined by my product Specialist due to the fact that this is a known issue and we have already shared the details with our product team to work on improving your Pixel experience. As I also mentioned earlier, replacing the device will not give you any guarantees that the issue will be resolved.

I have reached out to our product Specialists and tried to convince them for an exception; however, they have declined the request. "

2) NO - The $35 plan is tied to the included sim card, which is tied to the XR. You can't sell that. If you sell that and the buyer activates the sim card it won't work with another phone; this is Verizon base, not AT&T or T-Mobile where the buyer can just plop it into another GSM phone. Trust me, I learned the hard way early this year. I sold 2 "included $25 plan" from a Straight Talk XR and SE2 and the buyers couldn't use them (I mailed them the included sim cards). I had to refund them. 2 months later my XR and SE2 were auto unlocked. The fact they became unlocked after 60 days tells you the included plan is tied to the phone. It's not the worth trouble trying to sell the included plan

Oh I see...i was anyway not planning to sell but just wanted to know..looks like even I can't use this $35 plan for a month ( bummer). I hope Pixel 7 is worth the hassle

I asked the same question in another thread and got this response

----
I activated the SIM after receiving my Straight Talk iPhone 11. Calls, text, and data worked for me when I tested it in an unlocked phone. I don't know if you can do anything with an unactivated SIM, but I plan to port this new number out after 30 days.
----

I think I am gonna take a chance and activate the sim and try to use it
