You'll get charged the full price + taxes when making the order with a trade-in online. When you go in-store to pick up the new phone and trade in your old phone, they'll refund you the difference and with that, your taxes will also be adjusted according to the final price.

Source: I traded in my Pixel 6 for a Pixel 7 a month ago at Best Buy.

I traded in a fair condition ATT iphone 12 mini at BB. The screen was good, but the back was broken and missing pieces. No issues with the trade in and was out the door in 10 mins.

Offered $140 vs $465 off because the phone was not activated.

I have the UPS My Choice account, and it emails me whenever I have an incoming package and when it's been delivered. So yes, I received emails, but they were from UPS, not ST. ST sent me two emails only, one for order received and second for shipped.

Go back and tell them they it's listed on their site. Show it to them. A unlocked XS is literally an option.

Ordered XR from ST 11/17/22. Got charged. Status is "Awaiting remote fulfillment" or whatever. Chatted with them. They said they need to call me as there's an issue. They call me within 15 minutes. Had issues finding my order. When found, told me they had to have a different department talk to me. Told me they'd call within 24 hours.

I'd recommend calling and checking your order. Seems like things are a mess over there.

What can I do instead of going for the XR? Saw something about getting an iPhone 11 from Metro?

Has anyone ever heard that Best Buy will not accept a trade in if the phone was not originally purchased at Best Buy? I'm in metro NY and was just told that I can't trade in my current phone because it wasn't purchased from Best Buy. I challenged the employee about being able to do it online, but she said that online is governed by different rules. So lame. I ended up going directly to Google to buy the Pixel 7 and got $484 credit for an iPhone 11. Bad business for BB.
