No local dimming. Sony is so weird about their TV lineup. In my opinion, they hold the wrong features and cut costs in the wrong places for their stepped down models.

It s a bit hard to recommend any Sony TV under a $1000. The competition is too much. The Hisense mini-led seems to win around the $800 price if you can live with a few minor quirks that may or may not get fixed by firmware improvements.

Agree with the above. Spring for the x90k or get a U7, U8 or 6 series to potentially save a little money. No LD makes this a poor choice for movies and shows.

You could even argue, with the sales, that the TCL R646 and/or the TCL S555 would be worth looking at.
