What about this mouse makes it worth $80, let alone $160?
What feature does it has that I didn't know I need? 😜
Gaming mice have higher "resolution" for precision and response rates along with some other features like lighter materials to decrease hand fatigue, but yeah for normal people you won't notice the difference.
I have used gaming mice for so long that even if I stopped playing games, I could never go back to regular office mice. The analogy I can think of is when you're used to driving cars built to perform at a high level, it's hard to go back to an everyday commuter car.
This Cyberpunk branding looks to be the most unfortunate branding ever.

Didn't gaming mouse used to have weights to make them heavier?

LOL probably. I guess they realized that doesn't work well for long term gaming. lately you'll see lots of mice with cringe-inducing holes/vents to reduce to the weight, nightmare for OCD people.

I can't stand light mouses, as it feels cheap. I prefer a little weight to it, but I don't play a lot of games with m/kb and certainly not enough to have fatigue.
Also, I don't need those magical super powers that come with these supposed snake oil devices.

Thats fine for a very tiny population. The holes are actually fine, ive used both with and without them, and the light weight does help with accuracy. People who dont notice the difference simply are just not good enough at games to notice them. Thats fine, most people are just Eh at games anyway.
I can tell you going from a G502 to a Zowie S2 Divina was a massive change for me, and it was a decent improvement. Heavy mice are just worse for FPS and such. There is no getting around that, peoples preferences is fine and if they prefer it then so be it, that doesnt change the facts.
Razer Quality control issues is something id warn any user against buying any of their products. They do not stand behind their products, they know they are built to break and not last long, most companies sadly do this but razer takes it to another level. They are great when you first buy them, and within 6 months you will already notice the wearing down of certain components. Anything beyond the first year, especially after 2, is quite rare for these products sadly.

So I understand you correctly, going to the Benq mouse gave you better performance than the more expensive Logitech, mainly due to the lighter weight?

Correct. Also the G502 was like 30$ at the time, the newer ones are all much more expensive. Lightweight mice do make a big difference, practice helps and once you get use to it, try the heavier mouse again, you will notice that you tend to do better with the light mouse.
Generally the light weight helps you be a lot more accurate, with a good amount of tuning with DPI (since every mouse will have a different DPI amount, 1100 DPI on one mouse is not 1100 DPI on the other) it should help for Shooter games and such.

I still can't used to playing FPS with m+k. Ironically, I started off with the m+k all the way from the original wolfenstein (well kb only for that) until the ps3 era through now when I've exclusively played on console so I think I've actually spent more years with the controller now.
I finally decided to invest in a good gaming pc a few months ago, and am having a very difficult adjustment with FPS games. While the mouse is definitely more precise and accurate, my overall performance is worse due to the mouse movement differences and also reaching for keys on the keyboard.
Not sure if I'm just too old now to adapt, or if it's worth trying a better gaming mouse.

It honestly depends on the game. Game like COD are pretty dogshit for Mouse and key because of the controller peps are dogshit so they pretty much have to amp up the Aim assist to an extreme. Now they pretty much have an Auto aiming bot without much input.
Other games that have a lot more precise control, it will vary. Some games really do well because of the recoil, precise movements with scopes, and other stuff. It takes a while to get use to every games spray patterns, recoil rates, but once you do its just a process of dialing it in.
You arent to old, unless your 50+ you should be fine.
