Target has the Xbox Series S on sale for $249 (regular price $299) plus you get a $50 Target free with purchase. In my home, Target gift cards are as good as cash, so that's a net price of $199. Use your Target Red Card/Debit Card to save an additional 5%.

Not a serious gamer, but with Stadia shutting business, need an alternative. My ol' XBox One S is too slow and shows age.
These are the factors that keep me away:
- My guess is that Series S isn't gonna be supported as much as and as long as Series X.
- Additional High-speed storage is expensive. If you're gonna upgrade storage anyway, it brings price closer to Series X territory.
- Despite GamePass, I'd still like to have the ability to play my old discs and Blu-ray.
But for a starter, using GamePass, able to work with 512Gb or slower USB storage (for last gen games), this unit and this price is perfect!

I don't see Microsoft products listed in the exclusions, but Sony and Nintendo are excluded so I'm not sure. Worth a try I suppose
