The price seems good enough that you could just hook it up to an external and not worry about the 1080p
Or buy a gaming desktop at this price instead for a larger GPU and stronger performance.
What would be the point of buying a laptop and hooking it up to a monitor as you would a desktop?
Of course you can. It fits two NVMe slots.
I thought they had a problem with cooling?

Wait I though 599 had to go to the balance not including taxes?
$1240 - $240 - $117 = $883 will get $71 back in dell rewards.
What would be the point of buying a laptop and hooking it up to a monitor as you would a desktop?
Because laptops are devices that can used as both a desktop replacement or purely as a portable system. The desktop argument is silly.
Because Dell is a greedy company and wants to keep their costs as low as possible by selling outdated GPUs at beefed up prices.
That's how they make a profit.
Unknowing customers fall for it because they don't know how bad its deals really are.
