I made a mistake of upgrading Aeropex (which is old name for OpenRun) to OpenRun Pro. These do sound marginally better, thanks to the new bass drivers, but to get there, they went from IP67 to IP55, meaning I can't swim in these anymore. For the purpose (active/sport headphones) I think waterproofness is far more important than bass, so think twice before buying these.

wait, you can swim with Aeropex? I thought bluetooth won't work through water?
I got a code for $40 off thru email, is that what you mean?
Really? I haven't gotten anything, just the 11/21 @ 9am PT "biggest VIP Sale of the year" and the promise of an "exclusive" coupon today. $40 stackable with whatever their sale price would be nice, but it may just be off retail.
Edit: NVM, just did the sms click-though and it showed up. Yeah, $40, non-stackable. Still $4 better than best buy.

Upgrading because the mic is much better in this than the OpenRun and I use these in the office for calls. The OpenComm version with the boom mic is only marginally better than the old OpenRun and makes them office-only gear; I expect this to be better than the (older) OpenComm based on the audio samples.

Yeah, I don't quite understand the customer base for the OpenRun Pro. Open"Run" sounds like something you'd want to wear while out running or on the treadmill. You're going to sweat while running and occasionally be caught in the rain while running. I'd go with the IP67 OpenRun instead of the IP55 OpenRun Pro if your intention is to use while exercising.

You are not going to sweat an IP55 device to death, FWIW. I totally understand that many will have a need for IP67, but if you're joggling/cycling/sweating in the rain, you're gonna be totally fine with IP55, IMO.
It seems the the customer base is for people who want active bone conduction headphones w/ better sound quality. If you look at their marketing, the primary focus seems to be around the "bass enhancers", improved tech, etc.
So, more SQ, but not more rugged/waterproof.
Anecdotally, my cheapo lenovo x3 pros work totally fine (IP56 rated, good clarity/battery life/volume), but the low end is non-existent. No issues w/ podcasts, but music is 'meh' (though still clear/listenable). The selling point on the OpenRun Pros (or any bone conduction headphones over ~$30) would simply to improve the low end response (*for me*) and overall SQ.
