Back in the day it wasn't the worst. The small screen sizes was the problem with the first ones, and then things like the Acer aspire one just became so bloated it became unusable, even after memory and SSD upgrades. But it was decent for a year or two.

So will these charge with any USB c charger in a pinch or just the one included?

My Celeron model charges fine with my generic type C 45W charger, the original charger is still in the box. Shows a SLOW charge with 5V, 2.4A USB charger, maybe will work OK powered off in a pinch if you have the time, didn't try.

I dunno about this one but I've been able to charge the Chromebook 3 with a regular USB c... Took a while though, and best done with the unit off. Given the similar construction, I'm going to give that a nod. I've done it while taking a long drive.

I think this is my exact problem with buying this Lenovo - spending $100 for a device that is landfill in a "year or two." just for me personally I'd rather spend a bit more and buy a quality device where (a) I don't have to buy another new device thus spending double and (b) actually enjoy the experience vs tolerating bad specs and low speeds

I bought an open box Geek Squad certified Celeron 4020 version for about $11 less than the BF price. My initial impression is that for the price, it's quite nice. The build quality is solid. The big bezels don't bother me too much. Keyboard is just fine. Reasonably snappy for general web browsing. I'm not sure if it's the lack of processing power or only 4 GB of RAM, but using either VLC android or Linux app, as I'm streaming my favorite internet radio stations, there is some stuttering of audio. I haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life. I have an Acer 713 Spin Chromebook with i5 8GB RAM for comparison. I'm happy with this item for < $100.

I'm intending the use of this Lenovo to throw in the car while I'm out and about. Sometimes, I'm waiting in the car and can get more done with this Chromebook than my phone. I almost always prefer browsing on a computer with an actual keyboard vs a phone. The only time I prefer my phone for browsing is lying in bed. No big loss if this Lenovo is lost or stolen.

I do find it interesting that the mediatek version has less 1 less USB a and one less USB c. It also doesn't have the Kensington slot... Just.. weird.
Kensington slot is as useless as an ice-cube tray in Antarctica. It wont stop a thief.

I dont mind big bezels. Reminds me of the good old days, when people would be more tactile with each other. Bezels are a petty thing to complain about and phones are more fragile nowadays due to the absence of bezels that made the screen more durable to survive drops.

Me too, I only like browsing on a phone if in a long line at the Supermarket or when stuck in gridlocked traffic. At home I use a Desktop PC with full keyboard. I dont know how people can bear to use a laptop as their main device with the cramped keyboard, trackpad and small screen.

UPDATE: I had second thoughts after 4 hours and tried to cancel my order of the Intel Flex 3 and Best-Buy would not allow it, said "its too late to cancel the shipping". Oh well. I even spoke to chat support and BEGGED them to cancel it but they said the computer system will NOT allow a cancellation after 30 minutes. Maybe that policy is because of the tight logistics of Black Friday hustle-and-bustle

What ultimately made you have second thoughts on this?

Can anyone comment between this (82BB000AUS N4020 version) and the c13 yoga 20UXS06A00 ( https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/16257082 )

Looking for my kids, youtube, school, maybe roblox or Minecraft or app based games.

from what i see this one is 64gb vs the c13 32gb, but the c13 has the usi garaged pen.

Can the storage be overcome with a micro SD card? will apps run of the the SD cards?

Never used a chromebook before and I'm in review overload….thank you in advance!

I bought the Best Buy 4020 version and love it. That being said, I have just ordered the C13 from Lenovo. It's $50 more but I use it outdoors and the c13 display seems much better at 1920x1080, 300 nits vs 1366x768 , 250 nits seems worth it. An SD card and USB thumb drive makes the storage difference a moot point in my case.

Never bought from Lenovo before but it's return policy states " No hassle returns through January 15th". Best Buy returnable through Jan 14.

thank you for your reply. I've heard the SD storage cannot be used to run apps from but I'm guessing maybe that's device specific.

The garaged pen on the C 13 is what sparked my interest to allow them to draw and do other things. From what I'm seeing I don't think the flex is USI pen compatible.

Just the fact that I dont really NEED a chromebook since I already use an Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet for bedroom reading and browsing. And I use a desktop PC in my office for any serious work or research.

Bus as far as Chromebooks, this one here is the least expensive one that would meet all my needs and its good it has touchscreen because that allows all Android apps to run on it (a vast ecosystem). And if a thief stole it I would not burst into tears (like I would with an Apple product)
