Conversely, I have 3 Chromebooks that we use daily. If you're using it for just email, YouTube, and surfing the web, I say Chromebook all the way.
Rather heavy to use as a tablet. Doable but very heavy for a 'tablet.'
I bought this about 2 months ago because I had surgery on my bicep tendon. I would have limited use of one arm for some time. Figured I'd rather drop this than my Samsung Tab S7+. No longer have that concern but I end up using this cheapo tablet much more often than my Samsung even if the S7 is by far the better machine and has a nicer screen. The always attached keyboard and infinitely adjustable display angle are really nice on a 2-1 as compared to a tablet in a folio case. The built in (web) "apps" are nice as well. You can do a lot of light computing such as word processing, emails, spreadsheets on this much easier than a true tablet.
And 4GB is more than enough on a Chromebook. I don't know what world these "iTs OnLy GoT 4gB!" people are living.
That said, if you aren't going to be using the keyboard, you would almost-certainly be better off with an actual tablet. The screen resolution is too low, and the screen too dim, to be a great media-playback device.
Speaking for myself, it'll live next to the couch as a web browsing, reddit, e-mail, etc. device; but I suspect I'll still be using my iPad for any video.
