I bought the $188 one and it was trash. Straight-on viewing was ..ok... but anything at even a slight angle and it was awful. This is the 55S41 $188 on Nov 8 or thereabouts, that I'm micro-reviewing.

I took it back, and I'll keep using a 2010 Sony; the Sony was superior. Frown

I have a TCL 55" 4 series since they dropped to $299… like back in 2017. Used in bedroom so it's only straight - on viewing, room isn't large enough to test wide angles. But we have been very happy with the TV at price paid.

Same model but you get 40% more screen with only a 21% increase in price. So price per square inch of screen area is cheaper on the 65"

I'm pretty sure there's a reserve for non-walmart+ people.

Shipping option was available when it first went on sale at 9 am PST. About an hour later it was no longer available for shipping, just store pick up.

I've had this model since a $200 BF BB deal 2 years ago (same model number but it was without Roku) and the reliability has been great (minus the one broken pixel I had from day one). And always good HD-upscaling, contrast, and viewing angle for a lower tier series TCL.

Oh, but yes the sound on this is absolutely terrible and tinny. I've only been able to use it with a 5.1 surround system. Edit - I have the 65s41 (not 65S421), so not sure about that, but it can't be great. The picture on the former has been great and no added dead pixels or other reliability issues, not sure about this newer 4-series, though.
