I bought the $188 one and it was trash. Straight-on viewing was ..ok... but anything at even a slight angle and it was awful. This is the 55S41 $188 on Nov 8 or thereabouts, that I'm micro-reviewing.
I took it back, and I'll keep using a 2010 Sony; the Sony was superior.
I have a TCL 55" 4 series since they dropped to $299… like back in 2017. Used in bedroom so it's only straight - on viewing, room isn't large enough to test wide angles. But we have been very happy with the TV at price paid.
Anyone picked one of these up in a 2019 or newer Toyota Rav4? I have my pickup truck, but strapping this thing upright would be a pain if I can just slide it into the back of my wife's SUV

Box dimensions are 64x39x6 and 48 pounds. Made in Vietnam.
Ordered for pickup on Friday. Got a text the next day(Tuesday) it was ready for pickup so less than 24 hours after ordering. Didn't fit in the back seat so had to put it in the trunk and tie the trunk lid shut. Pictures attached. Great TV!! Bunch of free channels and also can cast right from your macbook to the TV so its amazing.
Got this yesterday to replace a 55" Sharp tv from BF a few years ago that just died. I don't like it at all. The screen is way more reflective, some pictures are blurry or overly sharpened, not very bright, and the viewing angles kinda suck. Watching at 8-9ft away. Going to keep looking for something else.

I know this TV is a Black Friday specific model and there is no rtings calibration settings page specifically for the TCL 65S41, but are there any closely related models that could be used instead? Maybe this one?
When I got the Hisense 65H6510G from Best Buy on Black Friday 2020, I remember absolutely hating the picture settings out of the box, but liking it after applying the calibration settings recommended by rtings.com.

It's identical to the 455/451 model so yeah that's what they should use.

Box is perfect, hopefully the TV inside is just as good.
